One of the much-awaited celebrity books of the year is finally out –Maine Mendoza‘s Yup I Am That Girl. In fact, a major book launch and signing is happening later at the Trinoma Activity Center from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Eat Bulaga‘s golden girl generously shared her journey from being a bored fresh graduate in her mom’s office to being the country’s viral Dubsmash Queen, apron-wearing Yaya Dub, and 1/2 of the phenomenal AlDub loveteam with Alden Richards. The book is chock full of information about Maine’s family, her background (childhood and school life), her inner thoughts (and kilig relevations), current states of her personal life and career, and big dreams. It is safe to say that you’ll get to know Maine better through this 120+ paged hardbound book priced at Php295.
In the book, Maine lets her readers in on how she views the sudden turn of events in her life, the downpour of blessings and love from her legion of fans, and even all the hate she’s been receiving from bashers when she reached the top. One thing was consistent all throughout the book – her honesty and openness. For someone who claims to be an introvert, Maine successfully opened herself up to her audience. Her five months of writing this piece is worth it. She’ll introduce you to her inner circle – her immediate family members and closest friends, share the kind of childhood she had, her constant personal struggles, and her mistakes and weaknesses in love.
For the fans, you’re in for her style recommendations, go-to playlists, never-before-seen photos, random hugot side notes, life and love advice, a spilled AlDub secret, own fangirlingmoments, interesting BUCKET and BAKIT lists, and some of the dreams she has yet to fulfill (her top 2 dream businesses will surely excite you!).
Here’s a sneak peek of the book:
It was hard finding a copy of this book to be reviewed. I tried calling several bookstores but stocks have been sold out. A bookstore attendant told me, “Ma’am, nagkaron po ng stocks sa National Bookstore MOA, pero ubos na po. Isang tao lang po ang bumili.” As they say, never underestimate the power of the fans. 😉If you’ve been reading Maine’s blog, you’ll know that she’s the one writing this and not a ghost writer. The tone and the random expressions are very much similar to the ones used in her online entries. If you’re a fan, it feels like you’re having a casual conversation with Maine. True to what the cover says, the book is unfiltered. You can sense the honesty behind the text.Quick peek inside.
Eight photo prints are included inside featuring Maine all glammed up.
Catch her book launch later today. Here are Maine’s post a few minutes ago and Summit’s teaser plug yesterday:
