This innovative venture opens doors to eco-minded entrepreneurs by franchising the first vending refilling station offering cleaning products for every home.
Sabon Express launched Blue Box to champion their advocacy of reducing plastic waste in society. Featuring a sleek, self-service refilling station, Blue Box provides products such as dishwashing liquid, liquid detergent, and fabric conditioner. Customers are encouraged to bring their bottles to refill conveniently at a nearby Blue Box station, fostering a sustainable lifestyle and minimizing plastic consumption.
Blue Box enjoys strong support from various environmental organizations, including Greenpeace, Ecowaste Coalition, the Department of Science and Technology, #BreakFreeFromPlastic, Kadiwa ng Pangulo, BJMPBAI, and the Department of Trade and Industry. Moreover, Sabon Express has been a case study under the United Nations Environment Programme at the University of Portsmouth from 2023 to present, participating in a global exchange on environmental initiatives.
“Our goal is to make eco-friendly refilling accessible to all Filipinos. We also aim to reduce the country’s reliance on single-use plastics and sachets,” Mellany shared. She emphasized their commitment to providing alternatives that are not only sustainable but also affordable and practical.
In collaboration with BJMPBAI, their employees can franchise Blue Box at a special discounted rate and package before offering it to aspiring entrepreneurs. By introducing Blue Box to the market, Sabon Express takes a significant step toward environmental sustainability—one refill at a time. This initiative not only offers a solution to plastic waste but also creates opportunities for Filipinos to participate in sustainable business ventures that make a meaningful difference.
