“Sobrang happy. Nakakatuwa. Hindi ko inexpect na makukuha ko ang ganitong achievement. I’m thankful,” Star Magic artist JM Ibarra expressed happiness and gratitude. Fyang Smith, JM’s love team partner and fellow housemate from Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11, also shared her excitement about being part of a horror film. She said, “Mahilig talaga ako sa horror films. Mahilig talaga ako manood ng horror movies ng isang upuan lang.” She also revealed how much this opportunity means to her, saying, “Sobrang saya ko noong sinabi sa akin na may gagawin akong horror movie dahil matagal ko na talagang pangarap na gumawa ng horror film.”
On October 27, at Valencia Events Place, JM and Fyang, also known as the JMFyang love team, expressed their enthusiasm about their horror project, “Shake, Rattle, and Roll,” which they watched during their childhood. While we saw their cameo appearance in another movie earlier this year, JMFyang will make their movie debut in Regal Entertainment’s “Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins,” one of the official entries to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival.

JM and Yang will appear in the second of three parts of the film, but they chose not to reveal the plot, wanting their fans to be surprised. The two were very careful before answering any question during the pocket press conference.

Both actors are ready for the film’s promotion, including the Parade of Stars for the upcoming festival. “Malamang magkasama kami sa Pasko,” JM shared.
When asked about how they have grown together, JM explained, “Mas nakikilala namin ang isa’t isa. Mas nagiging kumportable kami sa isa’t isa. Napapansin ko sa kanya, mas nagiging demure. ‘Yung sense of maturity nakikita ko sa kanya.” He observed positive changes in Fyang, noting the previous criticisms the PBB Gen 11 Big Winner received for her no-filter behavior.
JM and Fyang did not only keep movie details private but also the real score between them, saying they are simply happy being together. While they haven’t made their relationship official, Fyang expressed her feelings, saying, “Pinagpapasalamat ko bukod sa maraming trabaho natatanggap, maraming blessing — na dumating siya [JM] sa buhay ko. Siya yung biggest plot twist ng buhay ko, pinakaunexpected.” She emphasized this point twice, saying, “Sobrang happy ako na dumating siya sa buhay ko. Malaki ang impact niya sa buhay ko.” When someone teased, “May headline na!,” JM laughed, and Fyang quickly turned to her partner and clarified, “Uy! Genuine ’to. Grabe ka naman.” She described JM as “isa sa mga pinakaimportanteng tao sa buhay ko.”
JM responded to her, saying, “Ganun din ako. Parehas kami ng plot twist. Hindi namin ineexpect na kaming dalawa ang magtutulungan. Hindi lang para sa career kundi para sa buhay.” He expressed gratitude, stating, “Marami kaming para pasalamatan, sa mga sumusuporta sa ‘min, and team namin na walang sawa, sobrang haba ng pasensya samin.”
He also sincerely ended by saying, “Isa pa, thankful ako sa suporta at tiwala na binigay niya sa ‘kin since Day 1. Kasi bago man ako suportahan at pagkatiwalaan ng karamihan ngayon, siya na agad ‘yung nagbigay sa’kin nun.” Turning to Fyang, he added, “So, thank you.”
Finally, when host Eric John Salut reiterated what JM said, “Isa siya sa mga unang nakakita…,” JM quickly corrected him, saying, “Hindi siya isa sa, siya mismo ang unang nakakita.”
