As one with a franchise, GMA Network has reinforced its reputation as a leading source for news coverage in the Philippines, highlighted by its comprehensive “Eleksyon 2025: The GMA Integrated News Coverage.” According to Nielsen Philippines’ data for May 12 to 13, this coverage reached a nationwide audience, achieving a combined people rating of 4.2 percent in Urban Philippines on GMA and GTV.
Compared to other broadcasters, this coverage significantly outperformed programs on TV5 and A2Z/Kapamilya Channel, which recorded ratings of 0.8 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively. The coverage also reached an estimated 23.5 million viewers across the country.
On election day, GMA’s flagship newscast, 24 Oras, maintained strong engagement, with a combined urban rating of 12.9 percent. This was higher than other prominent programs such as TV Patrol on A2Z and Kapamilya Channel, which registered 2.7 percent, and Frontline Pilipinas on TV5 with 2.0 percent. Other ratings from competing programs also trailed behind.
Online, GMA’s election coverage proved popular among internet users. Data from Tubular Labs indicates that the livestream of “Eleksyon 2025” garnered approximately 112 million views across platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. This was ahead of competitors ABS-CBN News’ 97.3 million views and News 5’s 72 million.
Radio listeners also received extensive coverage from “Eleksyon 2025, Super Radyo DZBB Special Coverage,” broadcast from May 11 to 13 across numerous Radyo and Barangay FM stations nationwide. Additionally, GMA’s international channels, GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV, provided live updates for overseas audiences.
The coverage was anchored by prominent GMA journalists and news personalities, supported by a team of over 800 journalists, 7 regional stations, and 21 radio outlets. The approach centered on delivering accurate and in-depth election reporting, guided by the “Dapat Totoo” (Must Be True) campaign.
