Family remains a top priority among Filipinos, serving as a foundation of love, support, and resilience. It is deeply ingrained in our culture to cherish and uphold close-knit relationships with loved ones. Films that highlight the importance of family and friendship resonate strongly with Filipino audiences, reminding us of the values that bind us together.

A relatable and captivating film about family and friendship, “Outside de Familia” was officially launched last week by director Joven Tan. Starred by award-winning actresses Ruby Ruiz and Sheila Francisco in a story that promises to leave a an impact on audiences with its honest portrayal of life, love, and deep relationships.

Joining the cast are seasoned actors Gelli de Belen, Luis Alandy, Dwayne Garcia, Peewee O’Hara, Rey PJ Abellana, and Matet de Leon, forming a star-studded ensemble that brings emotional depth and realism to the screen.

Produced by Arch. Ana Capuno under Grid Film Production, “Outside de Familia” also marks her debut film in the industry.

Ruby Ruiz, one of the film’s leads, expressed her pride after viewing the final cut.

Her co-star Sheila Francisco also shared her excitement, noting how much she enjoyed working with Ruby for the first time. Sheila said, “Excited ako dahil first time kong makasama ang aking sparring partner na si Ruby at hindi ko pa napapanood yung entire movie, but even before that, when we were filming palang, I had a good feeling about it because of all these wonderful actors na kasama namin, especially si Ruby na sobrang sarap katrabaho.”

Director Joven Tan hopes the film offers more than just entertainment, he wants viewers to take away a sense of hope and reflection.

“Outside de Familia” is a film meant to be shared. Bring your loved ones and experience this relatable story together. Catch it in cinemas starting August 27.
