Lani Misalucha, affectionately called Asia’s Nightingale, is preparing to showcase four decades of her extraordinary career. Her upcoming concert, titled Still Lani, marks her 40th year in music—a journey that has inspired many and elevated Filipino talent on the global stage. After being away from the spotlight, this event is her grand comeback, celebrating both her past achievements and her ongoing artistic growth.

The concert is produced by Backstage Entertainment, a division of Backstage Manila, with producers Nate Quijano and Cris Mananquil leading the project. Director Calvin Neria is at the helm, shaping the visual and stage experience. Musical arrangements are guided by Toma Cayabyab, son of the renowned composer Ryan Cayabyab. A 40-piece orchestra will accompany Lani, bringing her songs to life in a fresh, vibrant way.
From Choirs to Global Stages
Lani’s musical journey began modestly in a Manila church choir. Her unique talent quickly gained attention, leading to her breakthrough in 1997 with her debut album “More Than I Should.” Her versatile voice and genre-spanning albums, like “Tunay Na Mahal” and “All Heart,” established her reputation as a singer capable of effortlessly crossing musical styles. Her renditions of beloved songs such as “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” “Tila,” “You Don’t Own Me,” “Malaya Ka Na,” and “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin” have touched fans worldwide and remain standards in her repertoire.
Trailblazing in Vegas
In 2004, Lani made history as the first Asian artist to headline at a main showroom in Las Vegas, performing at Bally’s Hotel and Casino with the Society of Seven. Known as “the Siren of the Strip,” her performances earned standing ovations from music legends like Gladys Knight and Dionne Warwick. Her talent was recognized nationally when the Las Vegas Review-Journal named her the “Best Singer” in its annual poll, sharing the honor with icons like Celine Dion.
Global Collaborations and Honors
Lani’s influence extends beyond Las Vegas. She has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, and Sergio Mendes, demonstrating her ability to connect across musical genres, from classical to jazz and gospel. Her performance of “I Live For Your Love” was awarded the “Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist” at the 20th Awit Awards. She has also received special commendations, including “Lani Misalucha Day” in Las Vegas and San Francisco, recognizing her as a cultural ambassador.
