In uncertain times, small things begin to matter more. When the economy feels tight and daily stress runs high, the simple act of caring for yourself — looking good, feeling good, showing up with confidence — can make all the difference. Self-care, after all, is beyond indulgence. It is emotional armor.

This mindset set the tone for SKIN2CONFIDENCE: Where Skin Care Meets Makeup (Batch 2), held on February 7 by Pretty Skin & Lamelin. What began as a skincare masterclass quickly revealed itself to be something deeper. It became a learning space where science, self-care, and human connection came together to help people feel more in control of their skin and, in many ways, themselves.

Bringing together dermatologists, pharmacists, partners, influencers, and everyday consumers, the event focused on one clear principle — confidence grows from understanding.

Science Before Trends
The program opened with a virtual message from Korea by Jung Bung Sub, Founder and CEO of Pretty Skin Lamelin Korea. His message highlighted a philosophy that runs through both brands — Korean skincare is built on systems, discipline, and long-term skin health and not just fleeting trends.
On the local front, Jun Gamo, Co-Founder of Pretty Skin Lamelin Philippines, shared how these dermatologic principles are thoughtfully adapted for Filipino realities. In a country where heat, humidity, sun exposure, and daily makeup use shape skin behavior, routines must be practical, climate-aware, and sustainable.
Representing the Korea headquarters, Sales & Marketing Manager Joo Hoang and Export Manager Jun Lee Hyeob introduced key formulations, including:
- Lamelin 2% NMN & PDRN Line for regeneration and longevity
- Pretty Skin B5 Line for deep hydration and barrier repair
- Pretty Skin B3 Line for strengthening and resilience
The focus was less on quick results and more on ingredient integrity, skin recovery, and long-term health — an approach that reflects the brands’ commitment to science-led beauty and informed self-care.
Skin Is a Living Organ
Medical education formed the backbone of the experience.
Dr. Mara Capirosso addressed common skincare misconceptions, reminding participants that skin responds daily to stress, environment, sleep, and lifestyle. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Finesse Evangelista expanded the discussion through the concept of “active intelligence,” how ingredients work synergistically and why understanding formulation matters in today’s crowded beauty landscape.
In an era driven by viral routines and influencer recommendations, the message was refreshing. Knowledge, not hype, leads to better skin decisions.
Where Care Meets Craft
Learning moved from theory to practice through hands-on sessions.
Korean-certified skincare educator Grace Lee demonstrated a routine using the Lamelin Camella Line, formulated for dry skin. Participants were guided through proper product matching, gentle layering, and the importance of listening to what the skin actually needs.
The session was followed by a makeup workshop led by professional artist Florence Vergara, who introduced the new Pretty Skin Makeup Line. Her approach emphasized skin-first beauty, showing how makeup can enhance complexion and confidence without compromising skin health when applied on a well-prepared base.

Throughout the day, one idea stood out and that is the fact that skincare and makeup are not separate steps, but a continuous cycle of care and enhancement.

Community, Not Just Commerce
Global Brand Ambassador Katrina Santos made a brief appearance and, despite needing to leave early for health reasons, arranged product giveaways and store gift certificates for participants.
Yet beyond the clinical insights and product education, the most noticeable shift happened between sessions. Participants exchanged stories about their skin journeys. Concerns turned into conversations.
In her closing remarks, Cathy Andres-Gamo reflected on how SKIN2CONFIDENCE has grown from a simple masterclass into something larger.
“We are not here simply to introduce products,” she said. “We are here to elevate standards, to educate, to build trust, and to walk this journey together.”
That philosophy is central to the identity of Pretty Skin & Lamelin. While rooted in Korean dermatologic research, the brands position themselves as education-driven platforms—creating spaces where consumers learn proper routines, understand ingredients, and build confidence through consistency rather than quick fixes.
GROWING MOVEMENT
SKIN2CONFIDENCE was designed as an ongoing masterclass series aimed at long-term skin education and relationship-building. After Batch 1 last January 14 and Batch 2 on February 7, participation continues to grow among healthcare professionals, partners, and consumers alike.
Batch 3 is scheduled for March 20, continuing the initiative’s mission to make skin education accessible, practical, and human.
With each session, the focus goes beyond products. The goal is to strengthen understanding, nurture trust, and create a culture where skincare becomes a shared journey grounded in science, friendship, and purpose.
Because in challenging times, confidence comes from feeling informed, cared for, and connected.
From Korea to the Philippines, two founders now stand united by one shared vision and that is to empower individuals through knowledge, support long-term skin health, and build communities where self-care is guided by science and sustained by trust.
HOW TO JOIN:
Participants are invited to join Batch 3 on March 20 as Pretty Skin & Lamelin continue their mission to make skin education accessible, community-driven, and grounded in real-life needs.
