Ako lang nakaisip ng name pero hindi ko ’to magagawa without them. Matagal na itong pinaplano last year pa. Ngayon lang nagkaroon talaga ng mga materials, dahil sa tulong ng D8TV, magagawa na namin ito,” he explains. Iba’t ibang shows from content creators at mga influencers na kaibigan namin. But Geng Geng Network is more than just entertainment. “Sobrang daming airtime niya. May weekly show, may daily show. Open ’to sa lahat, sa lahat ng mga nanonood, kung content creator kayo, or influencer sa social media,” explains Boss Toyo. With this move to mainstream television, the network is committed to responsible content creation. “We’re here to prove na we’re not just a content creator or social media influencer. We’re here to prove something na kaya rin naman natin. Kaya rin naman natin magbigay ng saya, ng entertainment, ng drama,” says Boss Toyo, acknowledging the power and responsibility that comes with a wider audience.
Rendon Labador echoes this sentiment, highlighting the importance of being role models. “Gusto namin maging role model sa kapwa naming content creators na magkaroon ng responsibility sa tao kasi sa social media hindi regulated. Ang daming nagmumura at ang daming gumagawa ng content na hindi puwede sa bata. Makikipagtulungan kami sa MTRCB para magkaroon ng standard ang tamang pag-gawa ng content para sa mga Pilipino.” Geng Geng Network aims to work within MTRCB guidelines while retaining the authenticity that makes these creators so popular.
