In the energetic hub of Quezon City’s nightlife, Rampa Drag Club is creating a stir as a place of acceptance—a place where members of Manila’s LGBTQIA+ community and those visiting from around the world can come together, express themselves, and celebrate.

More Than Just a Club

Opened in February 2024 by well-known Filipino actor and entrepreneur RS Francisco, Rampa is more than just a club—it’s a symbol. Francisco, famous for his leading role in the acclaimed play M. Butterfly and for co-founding the successful wellness company Frontrow Philippines with Sam Versoza, is now expressing his passion for inclusivity and empowerment in this new endeavor. With a variety of drag performers, themed nights, and a welcoming environment, Rampa has quickly become a must-visit spot for those looking for both entertainment and a sense of belonging.

“Rampa is a safe place,” Francisco shares. “We offer more than just a show. I wanted to create a space where the queer community and our allies could feel comfortable and be themselves. In a world that often tries to exclude them, Rampa is here to embrace them. This club is a dream I’ve had for many years. I truly hope every person who walks through our doors feels like they are part of something special.”

A Stage for Expression

The moment you enter the club, you’re greeted by a lively atmosphere where everything—from the brightly lit stage to the enthusiastic crowd—is simply fantastic. Enhancing the appeal, Rampa showcases a remarkable lineup of some of the country’s most gifted drag artists, including Drag Race Philippines stars Brigiding, Viñas De Luxe, and Precious Paula Nicole—RS’s partners in Rampa, known together as the Divine Divas.

“Our performers are the heart and soul of Rampa,” Francisco says with pride. “Each performance is a collaboration between the artists and the audience, creating a truly memorable experience every single night.”

A Feast for the Senses

Open Wednesday through Sunday, the club keeps its audience engaged with lively performances and special events that make each night a new and exciting experience. With a rotating cast of 17 drag queens and five hosts, there’s always something different to see at Rampa.

The club’s menu offers Filipino-inspired snacks like sisig tofu and buffalo wings, along with a wide variety of cocktails and other drinks. “Our food and drinks are part of the overall experience we want to offer our guests,” Francisco points out. “Every little thing, from the menu to the lighting, is designed to create an atmosphere that feels fun, free, and full of life.”

A Welcoming Space for All

Beyond the tasty food and amazing performances, Rampa is also becoming known as a great tourist spot in Metro Manila. Located on Eugenio Lopez Drive in Barangay South Triangle, Rampa is in one of the most accessible and active parts of Quezon City, attracting a constant flow of locals and international visitors.

“When we first came up with the idea for Rampa, we wanted it to be a place where tourists could experience true Filipino hospitality and LGBTQIA+ culture,” Francisco explains. “We take pride in providing a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. At Rampa, everyone—no matter who they are or where they come from—can feel at home. Whether you’re gay, straight, trans, or just looking for a good time, this club is for you too.”

Supporting the Community

Francisco has always been a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Philippines. During the pandemic, he helped the Golden Gays, a group of older gay men in Manila, by giving them financial assistance through sales of merchandise—an act that shows his dedication to respecting those who paved the way for future generations. He’s also planning a special night at Rampa to honor the Golden Gays, celebrating their history and contributions to the community.

Rampa has also become a starting point for the next generation of queer talent through its “Sampa” project, an open-mic event that gives aspiring drag performers a chance to experience performing on stage with professional lighting and visuals.

Celebrating Diversity

Rampa also organizes themed nights that attract a wide range of people. For instance, last Halloween’s “Shake, Rattle, and Rampa” party gave a 50,000 PHP cash prize to the person with the best costume. Certain days of the week are set aside for events like “People Like Us,” which features lesbians and trans men, or “Spectacular! Spectacular!” which celebrates plus-size men and bears—individuals who are muscular, bearded, and sometimes noticeably hairy. Through these programs, Francisco supports the queer community in the Philippines by giving them platforms for creativity, self-expression, and unity.

A Home on the Dance Floor

In just a short time, Rampa has become more than just a club—it’s a place where culture is shared, performances come to life, and most importantly, it’s a safe and welcoming place for Manila’s LGBTQIA+ community and those who support them. For locals and visitors looking for a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, Rampa Drag Club is changing what it means to feel at home—even on the dance floor.
