After releasing her debut single “Baka Pwede Na,” followed by “Lato lato” and “Pasko Na, Beke Nemen,” Star Music artist Lizzie Aguinaldo ventures into acting with her first movie appearance in “Lola Barang.”

As this is Lizzie’s first film, she shared her experience during the shoot: “Mahirap po at first, dahil bago po ang lahat sa akin since nakanta po ako diba, I release songs po so different step po talaga na nasa movie po ako and I’m acting.” Despite the new challenge, she appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow through the process.
Directed by Joven Tan, “Lola Barang” tells the story of a well-known horror director whose ideas are inspired by Lola Barbara, a faith healer also known as Lola Barang. The director promises Lola Barang a role in his film in exchange for her stories, but as his career advances, he forgets his promise. Lola Barang finds a way to remind him. Lizzie’s character is a patient of Lou Veloso’s role, who is believed to be a victim of “barang” or witchcraft.

Although the cast includes experienced actors like Gina Parreno, Ronnie Lazaro, and Lou Veloso, Lizzie didn’t share scenes with Gina and Ronnie. Instead, she had more interaction with Lou Veloso, which she enjoyed and learned from. She said, “Very happy po ako kasi super comfortable po niya maka work with and super happy po kasi medyo bubbly po siya kahit sobrang bigat po ng role ko, pero siya po nagpapatawa pa p siya pagkatapos po ng shoot so happy pa rin po although wala po akong scenes with Ms. Gina and Sir Ronnie.”

For now, Lizzie’s focus is on her studies. Having recently graduated from high school, she plans to pursue architecture in college. During an interview, she mentioned, “Kung may chance po siguro na kaya naman po ng schedule, bakit po hindi. Pero syempre po, mas better po if makapagtapos muna ako ng college at doon po ako magsisimula ng mag explore at maging full time artist sa industry.” While she’s taking a break from entertainment, her ambitions remain strong, and fans look forward to seeing her pursue her dreams in the industry soon.
“Lola Barang” will be showing in cinemas starting August 6.
