Corte Ibiza became a launchpad on February 5, 2025. Four young artists from Sparkle GMA Artist Center, Anthony Rosaldo, Kaloy Tingcungco, Mitzi Josh, and Brianna Bunagan, were about to unleash their newest creations upon the world, each song a story waiting to be told.
Anthony Rosaldo, usually known for his soulful ballads, surprised everyone with “Batubalani.” He described it as “a fun and upbeat love song,” a departure from his usual style. Penned in 2022, the song takes its name from the word “batubalani,” meaning magnet, capturing the irresistible pull of love. It’s a sonic shift for Anthony, a playful exploration of a familiar theme.
Kaloy Tingcungco offered a different flavor with “Infatuation.” He explained that it’s “a deeply relatable song that tells the story of someone unsure of their feelings for another person.” The track dives headfirst into the confusing whirlwind of early romance, the overwhelming intensity of not quite knowing where you stand. It’s a feeling many have experienced, the tightrope walk between hope and uncertainty.
Mitzi Josh’s “Let Me Down Easy” is on the horizon, scheduled for release later in February. She painted a picture of the song, saying it’s a “heartfelt track that paints a bittersweet picture of a couple on the verge of breaking up, asking for one last moment together before parting ways.” It’s a song about those fragile moments before the inevitable, the bittersweet ache of a love slipping away.
Brianna’s “Kung Masasaktan Lang” is perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day, arriving on February 14. She shared that the song “delves into the emotions of two people who want to fall in love but are hesitant because of past heartbreaks and fears of getting hurt again.” It’s a timely exploration of love in the age of heartbreak, the vulnerability of opening yourself up to the possibility of pain.
GMA Playlist is backing all four singles, showcasing the breadth of talent coming from Sparkle.
