International singer and actor Inigo Pascual recently took part in Star Magic’s Spotlight press conference held at Coffee Project in Wil Tower, Quezon City. Known for his approachable personality and natural charm, he shared insights about his experiences stepping into both acting and music. Inigo, given his numerous gifts as an artist, has come into his own, and no longer just identified as the country’s “Ultimate Heartthrob” Piolo Pascual’s son.

Inigo discussed his recent role in Joel Lamangan’s film “Fatherland,” which showcased his acting range. Inigo mentioned how he often seeks advice from his father especially during demanding scenes. “Lagi ako nagtatanong kay Papa [Piolo] lalo na dun sa mga heavy drama scenes na kailangan ko talaga ibigay ang todo. Nagtatanong ako sa kanya kung ano bang dapat kong isipin—kung yung personal pain ko ba or should I be the character? And my dad says, ‘Whatever works for you and whatever works in that situation.’” This highlights how much he values his father’s guidance and support in honing his craft.

Inigo also opened up about his efforts beyond the Philippines, particularly with auditions in the United States. He explained the hurdles involved, noting, “Whenever I say auditions, hindi po ibig sabihin nun lagi kang natatanggap. And for me, I’m happy that I get to do the auditions. And mahirap. Mahirap po talaga—imagine niyo po, kung dito sa Philippines mahirap nang maging artista, imagine niyo sa America. Mas madami kang makakalaban and mas marami silang options.”

Despite these difficulties, he remains committed to his goals, emphasizing, “When I say I do a lot of auditions, it means I’m just taking my chance and seeing how far I can go in my career in the States. Pero sa akin, hindi ibig sabihin nun na doon lang yung magiging gusto kong career. I still want to do my career out here in the Philippines.” He expressed his deep connection to his homeland, saying, “This is home to me. No matter what projects I get to do in another place, in another country, ito pa rin ‘yung bahay ko.”

His dedication to music continues to shape his path. In 2024, he released “The Heartbreak Trilogy,” an album that promises to reflect his artistic growth. He shared his plans, mentioning, “Ngayon nasa proseso po ako na gumagawa po ako ng mga kanta. And this year, I’m doing something different with my music. I think I’m going to go back to my roots and kind of go back to the sound of ‘Dahil Sayo.’ So abangan po natin yan.” His enthusiasm for exploring new musical directions shows his desire to keep evolving as an artist.

Apart from entertainment, Inigo is also venturing into business. He revealed, “I’m starting a business this year. I’m going to be making more rug designs. And I’m also going to come up with a new brand that’s coming out very soon. Mga hygiene stuff.” This move highlights his entrepreneurial spirit and his interest in expanding his pursuits beyond music and acting.

Despite his youth, Inigo Pascual is already making a notable impact. His ongoing projects, ambitions, and humble attitude suggest a future filled with many opportunities. With each step he takes, it’s clear he’s determined to develop his craft and explore new paths, promising an exciting journey ahead.
