Thirteen years. That’s how long the idea had been brewing, a quiet promise in the back of Jodi Sta. Maria’s mind. Then, on a Monday, the promise broke the surface, fully formed: The JSM Channel. Not a personal diary, she made clear, but a space built with intention.

“This project has been in the works for 13 years. I’m investing in this show because I believe in its cause,” she told the gathered crowd. The channel, she explained, was about more than just her. “The online channel aims to inspire viewers and spread kindness and positivity through the first three shows we produced. It doesn’t just mean Jodi Sta. Maria; it also means Journey, Stories, and More.”

Three distinct paths opened up within the channel. First, “Live Light,” a conversation space. Jodi, alongside experts, would tackle weighty topics. “Sensitive issues are inevitable,” she admitted, which is why she sought professional voices. This wasn’t about opinions, but information.

Then came “JSM Travel and Tours.” It sounded like a business, but it was something more personal. “Usually, we take a piece of a place with us, but this time, I want to leave a piece of my heart there,” she said, describing how she wanted to document her travels.
Finally, there was “Let’s Drink to That!” with friends AC Soriano and Cheena Crab. This was laughter and celebration, a space for good news and inspiring stories. They would raise their glasses to victories, hoping to spark others to chase their own.

But with a platform comes responsibility. Jodi spoke plainly about the dangers of online misinformation. “When you have followers and a platform, I just hope that people use these platforms responsibly. You never know whose life is affected by the fake news that spreads,” she warned. “So if you’re given a platform, use it responsibly. Use it wisely.”
This new venture didn’t mean goodbye to her acting career. She had projects, commitments. But the channel was her focus, a passion project she could pour herself into.
How did she manage it all? “I can’t do everything—I can’t walk on a tightrope or swallow glass. But kidding aside, I don’t think anyone is perfect or superhuman,” she said, acknowledging the juggling act. “It’s about being intentional with what you do because that’s where your energy goes.”

Priorities, limits, these were the keys. “It’s about having the wisdom to know what you want to do, what you can do, and what you cannot do,” she reiterated. “My passion is an endless pursuit. Along the way, I discover things I never thought I could do. And that’s what we’re trying to showcase on this channel.”
