The beloved “It’s Showtime” segment ‘Trabahula’ has made a heartwarming comeback after eight years, this time with a fresh twist that perfectly complements Vice Ganda’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “And The Breadwinner Is.”
The movie, written by Daisy Cayanan Mijares and Jumbo Albano, delves into the experiences of a family’s breadwinner, exploring the joys, pains, struggles, and hopes that come with the role. Echoing this theme, the revamped ‘Trabahula’ segment pays tribute to these hardworking individuals and provides a platform to share their inspiring stories.
In the first episode, popular loveteam Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, along with their ‘madlang’ partner, joined the fun. They attempted to identify the breadwinner among three contestants, all call center agents, by observing their movements, appearance, and responses to the host’s questions.
While they didn’t guess correctly, the real breadwinner, Ana Marissa de Mesa, was deeply touched by the experience. She received a ‘negosyo’ package, four pairs of shoes, and additional support from Vice Ganda (a refrigerator and P20,000) and DonBelle (P50,000).
