G.A.T., which stands for ‘Gawang Atin ‘to,’ perfectly embodies the spirit of this dynamic five-member group, emphasizing their mission to elevate Pinoy pop music and beyond. Their debut song Kakaiba was officially launched on August 7, marking another achievement for the group. From the very beginning, GAT made an impact by sticking to well-loved covers. Their team carefully selected a handful of standout songs to reinterpret. One notable example is their version of South Border’s “Rainbow,” which earned raves.

In addition, the boys put their spin on contemporary hits, such as the viral “Marikit” from the pandemic era. Their rendition transforms the song into pop style, with Derrick, Charles, Hans, Michael, and Keith each taking turns rapping and singing the catchy chorus, showcasing their versatility. They also offered an R&B-style version of Thyro Alfaro’s “‘Wag Ka Nang Humirit,” originally performed by James Reid. This cover not only highlights GAT’s R&B influences but also playfully hints at their shared good looks with the original artist.

Their most immediate viral success came from their cover of “Daleng Dale,” a lively dance track by the MMJ twins of XLR8, a group recognized for their K-pop-inspired P-pop style. Even before GAT officially recorded their version, “Daleng Dale” was already trending on TikTok. The song gained additional popularity due to its connection to the “Ang Mutya ng Section E” series, where all five members of GAT also made appearances. To this day, their “Daleng Dale” has raked in over 16 million streams across popular platforms.

Filming the “Kakaiba” music video during a typhoon brought the group even closer, allowing them to share their experiences and struggles during production. Despite these challenges, they expressed gratitude for the opportunity to manifest their creative vision. The debut single “Kakaiba” is characterized by an infectious beat and sleek choreography that fans will love. Their vocals and harmonies blend seamlessly, adding to the song’s vibrant energy.

Written by the members themselves, “Kakaiba” narrates the joy of a deep, undeniable connection and portrays an unusual yet alluring attraction toward someone special. It was produced by singer-songwriter Kylu Garcia and The Kennel, a renowned Swedish international media and management company. Alongside their debut, GAT introduced their signature fragrance under Viva Beauty—GAT Eau De Parfum. The members personally selected this scent, which features lively and warm notes of spice, woods, and earthiness.

This signature scent reflects their journey toward success, embodying their grit, growth, and powerful presence. The fragrance opens with spicy and earthy accords of cardamom, akigalawood, and turmeric, while rich notes of frankincense, oak, cedar, white sandalwood, and iris evoke depth and strength, mirroring their stage dominance. A comforting blend of vanilla and golden amber offers a lasting impression, resonating with fans and followers.

“Kakaiba” by GAT is now available for streaming across all major music platforms.
