This June 28, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila will be a hub of hope and gratitude as OPM lovers gather for ALON: Pag-ibig, Pangarap, Pag-asa. Headlined by the beloved indie folk-pop-rock band Ben&Ben, the event is a tribute to Filipino seafarers and their families, celebrating their sacrifices and dreams during Filipino Seafarers Month. This concert a meaningful fundraising initiative supporting programs by the Gregorio Oca Leadership and Development (GOLD) Foundation, dedicated to empowering seafarers through leadership training, welfare services, and holistic family support.

Why Ben&Ben?
Choosing Ben&Ben as the main artist wasn’t accidental. Their music resonates deeply with the Filipino soul—telling stories of love, hope, and resilience. Much like the waves that tirelessly caress our shores, Ben&Ben’s songs carry both the sorrow and strength that define the seafarers’ journeys. Their melodies evoke powerful emotions, reminding us of the sacrifices seafarers endure as they navigate the oceans. A recent online survey even showed that Ben&Ben’s songs consistently topped the charts for their heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring melodies, making them the perfect soundtrack for a tribute rooted in gratitude and admiration.

Special Performers and Community Tributes
The concert will feature several talented artists, starting with Kelvin Miranda—an actor and singer known for his breakthrough role in Netflix’s Dead Kids. Kelvin, who also released his hit single Slow Dance, is a committed supporter of Filipino seafarers. His role in a fantasy series as Diwan Adamus of Lireo symbolizes the protector of water, mirroring the seafarers’ vital role in our nation.

Another highlight is John Mark Saga, the second placer of Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 3. As a son of a seafarer himself, Saga will perform a heartfelt tribute to his father, acknowledging the sacrifices made by generations of seafarers to secure a brighter future for their families.

Additional performers include Calista, a talented four-member girl group under Merlion Entertainment, made up of Anne, Denise, Elle, and Dain. Their vibrant voices promise to add energy and emotion to the evening. The concert will also feature a choir composed of children of Filipino seafarers, singing in honor of their parents’ dedication and sacrifices.

A Visual Tribute and a Call to Action
The concert’s direction is led by Gelo Ruiz, a seafarer’s son, who aims to make this event both inspiring and impactful. ALON: Pag-ibig, Pangarap, Pag-asa is produced by OrangeSkies Productions in partnership with the GOLD Foundation, Inc. ALON goes beyond being a celebration by also serving as a call to recognize and support our modern-day heroes who brave the seas for our nation’s prosperity.
