The World Travel Expo (WTE) is returning for its ninth edition, bringing two major events tailored for travel enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and families alike. Scheduled from October 17 to 19, 2025, the expo will be held at SPACE, One Ayala in Makati City. Following this, from November 14 to 16, 2025, it will expand to a second location at Manila Bay, offering greater accessibility and opportunities.

During the media launch on September 24, 2025, at SPACE, One Ayala, event organizer Miles Caballero expressed her appreciation, thanking partners, exhibitors, and media personnel. “Looking around this room, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude,” she shared. “You’re not just here for the launch – you’re here because you believe in travel and what the World Travel Expo represents. For that, I sincerely thank you.” Her remarks set an optimistic tone for what promises to be a memorable celebration of this dual-event showcase.

When asked if the travel expo primarily focuses on domestic travel or it includes international destinations,
Ms. Jane Andres from La Jolla Luxury Beach Resort replied, “We’re targeting both local and international markets.” She continued, “Last summer, we visited Taiwan because it’s an emerging market compared to China. We partnered with Taiwanese travel agencies and connected with Taiwan-based agencies here in Manila. As a result, we’ve started hosting groups for overnight stays at our resort.”
“It’s a bit like a DIY approach. We traveled to Taiwan based on data showing its emerging market status, instead of focusing on China,” Ms. Andres explained how WTE is very much like a travel fair. “Next year, since Korea is the top foreign visitor to the Philippines, we plan to visit Korea to expand our reach,” she added.

On tourism impact
“We’re supporting startups, newly opened travel agencies, and hospitality establishments,” said Ms. Miles Caballero of AD Asia Events Group. “Our efforts promote local destinations, especially in Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao, helping these areas grow through increased exposure.”
On tourism status
“We’re actively supporting initiatives from the Department of Tourism and participating in international events like the Tourism Expo Japan in Nagoya,” Ms. Abigael Legaspi-Maguigad from The Manila Hotel shared. “Our properties, including The Manila Hotel and Manila Prince Hotel, are capturing international markets well, particularly in accommodations.”
“I can confirm that GDS Travel Agency is doing very well,” Mr. Rico Duque added. “We have a branch in China, bringing Chinese clients here for both leisure and business trips. The Travel Expo significantly impacts our business and helps us connect with markets across China.”
Travel benefits
“At Travel M8, we offer special discounts during the event—those are exclusive to the expo period. For walk-in clients or online inquiries, discounts are also available, but they’re larger during the expo,” explained Ms. Irish Lyn Duque.
With the return to Makati and a bold expansion to Manila Bay, the World Travel Expo aims to attract new audiences and broaden participation.
